Luckily I have to submit my posts weeks in advance, or there’d be a big fat blank space on In the Powder Room today. This past week has been difficult to say the least.

I sooooo want to comment in the Powder Room but can’t as I get no validation codes : so you get my ranty opinion here ( I know how much you love to hear my rants !):
My possible shortsighted opinion is that pole dancing is intrinsically linked with sexual displays and I would agree with the lady that posters displaying it have no place where young impressionable children are encouraged to be. If this gym is an adult orientated place where young adults attend then I might raise an eyebrow but let it ride. If this is a place with tumble tots and junior swims then I definitely don’t think posters should be on display. I don’t care if the children ‘don’t understand’ or think is is like gymnastics, they might feel the same about lap dancing or watching a porn movie. That still doesn’t make it appropriate. I am very ok with ladies that want to feel liberated, get fit and have fun..yup me too. But not in front of the children. Teach them to wall climb, aerobic, anything..anything that doesn’t tie fitness and self esteem with sexualisation. Young girls have enough to contend with in terms of this already without more of the same pressures.
